You’ve had the wedding you have always wanted and after saying goodbye to the last standing guests in the residents bar and crawling to bed at an unknown hour, would you really have the energy to have sex or would it even be a thought in your mind?

A new survey asked that question to bridal couples and the findings are interesting. The survey found that most couples don’t do the dirty on their wedding night! It found that over a third of newlyweds that’s 37% didn’t have sex on their wedding night, while the remaining 63% of those surveyed said they skipped sex and went to sleep instead.

The survey also found that couples getting married in Ireland spend on average of €25,000 with some couples admitting to going over this budget. The most expensive aspect of any wedding turned out to be the wedding venue, this is averaging at approx 12 grand followed swiftly by the band, the wedding dress, the photographer and then the videographer.

It revealed that on average the time spent organising and planning a wedding in Ireland is 20 months and the average age of Irish brides is now 31.

Of the couples surveyed, the survey also asked them what their biggest regret was and most of those who were surveyed said it was not hiring a videographer on the wedding day. They admitted they didn’t fork out for this service and most regretted it after the day was over. I know I did, I would have loved to have the speeches recorded, my brother did a cracker of a speech and I wish we had it recorded.
