The Marriage Proposal

We all know someone who has become engaged to their partner, maybe it was even you or your sister or your best friend. If you haven’t been living under a rock, chances are you know someone who has become engaged to marry during your lifetime.

If you have been hibernating, let me tell you what it’s all about.  A marriage proposal is when one person in a relationship asks the other’s hand in marriage. If that person accepts the proposal, they are therefore engaged to be married, BOOM, presto that’s what it’s all about. Engaged to the one you love, committed to spend the rest of your lives together.  What could be more special, than meeting your soulmate and them finally popping that burning question! No, not do you want a take-away tonight, although that’s a very good question, don’t get me wrong!

And then the excitement of the engagement ring, who can say no to a big diamond ring!  It’s a ritual for a man or woman to speak the words “Will You Marry Me”, this proposal is made directly to the person while the partner is genuflecting in front of them. Whats “Genuflecting” you ask, it’s not what you think, this is when they bend one knee and face you 🙂 The ring is then placed on their finger! Providing they said yes! We have the right to say no without a blink or reason, it has to be right and you know when they are the one.

Women Get in on the Marriage Proposal

Let’s not forget about the 29th of February, in a leap year it is said that a woman can propose to her partner, I say propose whenever you want! If you love your partner and you feel the time is right to take your relationship to the next level, what’s a date to stop or allow you.  

So if you are a man, a woman or even a turtle and you feel that special love for your partner, do what you want and if that’s a marriage proposal, then go for it.
