At the end of the day it’s an absolute honour to be asked to be a bridesmaid at a wedding. So we ask ourselves “how much do Irish bridesmaids spend”, well according to a recent survey they came to the finding that the average bridesmaid here in Ireland will spend at least 500 euro on the wedding celebrations. If that doesn’t sound like a lot, keep in mind that the majority of brides pay for the bridesmaids dress, shoes, hair and makeup and sometimes their accommodation.

The survey found that a majority which was 24% spent between 500 and 800 euro on their mates wedding, while 17% confessed to spending a mind boggling 1000 euro! Finally 8% said they spent over 1500 euro!

We can see how the costs to be a bridesmaid can rack up as even with hen do’s, a typical hen party back in the day was a nice meal and some drinks in the local. This is not the case now, hen and stag parties have turned into week long trips abroad. So if you have been asked to be a bridesmaid, you better get saving!
