How to Buy a Home and get Married at the Same Time

Did you ever think it was possible to buy a home and get married at the same time? We know that getting on the property ladder can seem like a pipe dream, especially in the current climate we are in.

Many find themselves stuck in the rental market, rent is so high it’s near impossible to pay rent and to save the money you need for a deposit for a house let alone find the money to get married too.

Getting married in the same year as you plan to purchase a home seems like a crazy idea for anyone. Ideally you would do one and then give it a break and then do the other, this will give you time to save and let’s face it releases the pressure of it all off your shoulders.

Ideally this is the best way but it doesn’t always plan out that way in real life. Things might happen that require you and your partner to act fast and just go for it. 

When it comes to buying your first home and planning your big day it’s important to know your budget and try not go over them. The mortgage companies want to see that you have the deposit for the home and that you can meet the repayments each month.  

You might think that having a personal loan is a bad thing but it’s not, this shows the bank that you are punctual in paying back the loan and can be trusted. Just try and have it cleared down by the time you’re going for the mortgage itself 

Be smart, call in favours from both family and friends when it comes to the wedding, this will help you keep costs down so you have more money set aside for the purchase of your home.

Limit the amount of people you invite to the wedding. This can be hard to do especially if your parents what to invite all the neighbours and their dogs but you have to be strict. 

Getting married on a weekday, doing this brings down the costs so much you’d be so surprised.
