The old age question of how do I include children in my wedding. Deciding whether or not to include kids in your wedding day can be a tricky decision for both you and your partner.

The reason this is so hard to decide now as a post to years ago is that couples are having children before marriage now than they did years ago. Before it was marriage first then kids, but in this day and age anything goes.

  1. Walk down the aisle – kids can make a wedding as wedding ring bearers or flower girls. This is a lovely way to include children in your wedding day. Another idea is to give them confetti or glitter that they can throw as you exit the church after the ceremony.
  2. Include the children in a special wedding dance – This can be done anytime after the first dance, the ides is having a second dance with kids and then the rest of the wedding guests can join in on.
  3. Have the children do a reading at the wedding – If the kids are old enough to read, then it’s a great idea to give them the amazing task of doing a reading on the big day. Having them do a reading is super cute and will make the small person feel super special.
  4. Mention the little ones in your vows – Should you write your own vows which we think is a lovely and personalised idea, this can also be a great idea to include your kids into the wedding. Adding special words about your kids into the wedding is a beautiful thing to do because they are part of your life together and adding them into the vows makes them feel special.
  5. Make your kids a bridesmaid or groomsman – This is great if you have teenagers rather than younger children. They will love being involved in the wedding party and a day that they will never forget. In addition to adding the to the wedding party you can go one step forward and give them a special gift on the day of your wedding. This is a very nice touch and will make your children feel extra special on the wedding day.
